Syrian women leaving Syria: What is their motive?

There are more and more Syrian stunners leaving Syria these days. Do you know their motives?

  • Modern Syrian ladies want to have fair legal rights. In Syria, there is a dual legal system which includes religious court and secular court. Unfortunately, the religious court discriminate against women in Syria. Worse still, marriage contracts are between the brides’ father and the groom in Syria. Currently, Syrian law still doesn’t recognise marital rape, which means a lot of ladies in Syria are raped by their husbands at home. Moreover, even though Syrian beauties are allowed to participate in daily life, they aren’t guaranteed a spot in being a part of social, economic, cultural and political fields. It is much harder for a Syrian girl to be successful in Syria. Also, because the legal age for women to get married is 17 years, early marriage is extremely common in this country. Actually, the Syrian courts can even allow 13-year-old girls to get married. That means a young Syrian beauty’s wishes are rarely met – the marriage contract is only signed by her dad and her freaking husband. If a Syrian lady wants to get a divorce, she must get consent from her freaking husband or prove that her crazy husband has physically abused her or neglected his duties as a husband. In contrast, if a Syrian man wants to divorce his freaking wife, all he needs to do is to orally demand a divorce for three times in court, and the judge will order him a legal divorce immediately. No question is asked! Obviously, men and women are not equal in Syria, so a lot of women from Syria want to leave Syria and find a better future.Modern-Syrian-ladies
  • Some stunners in Syria are aware of the fact that they are treated badly in Syria and can enjoy better benefits in other countries. The literacy rate for ladies is only 74.2%, whereas the literacy rate for men is 91% in Syria. The rate of girls with secondary education is only 29%, which is very sad. That means women’s involvement in the workforce is quite low in Syria – only 15.5% of the labour force in this country are women. No wonder most beauties in Syria can’t afford to divorce their mad husbands – they financially depend on their men! According to Wikipedia, female soldiers are trained to protect the Syrian president because their government believes that women are less likely to be searched and stopped at government checkpoints – it’s easier for them to protect their VIP. But that also means these women are probably used by the system.Syrian-stunners
  • Crime against Syrian women makes them want to leave that country. Honour killings are quite commonplace in Syria – every year at least 200 women are killed because they “ruined the family’s reputation”. Common reasons for honour killings are: becoming the victim of rape, wearing revealing clothes, being a lesbian, having an affair, refusing to enter an arranged marriage, marrying someone who is disapproved by the family, etc. Besides, child/forced marriages are common in Syria as well. Many parents force their young daughters into child marriages due to fear of rape, insecurity or terrible living conditions. Apart from that, at least 26% of women in Syria are abused by their husbands anyway. It is clear that a growing number of modern ladies from Syria want to leave that country whenever there is a chance.
