In western culture, sarcasm is considered to be a positive because it means you are able to see the funny side of things in life and you don’t take yourself too seriously.
In fact, taking oneself too seriously is a negative because it eliminates the fun in dating and relationships.
That’s why many women think sarcasm is a positive on their dating profiles.
Most men would relax when they are interacting with women who know how to find humor in life. Just like author Iris Apfel says, “Humor is the most important element in a healthy marriage. Whenever there is a problem, I would use humor to deal with it if I can.” She points out the importance of humor in relationships in her book Accidental Icon which emphasizes the significance of her lifestyle as a maximalist – she has a large collection of clothing and accessories and they are all fancy! Obviously, Iris Apfel is a very attractive woman with a good sense of humor. She says she hates cucumbers! She became a product endorser after she turns 90 years old – she worked with Blue Illusion (An Australian fashion brand for older women) and M.A.C. in her 90s!
Clearly, women with a great sense of humor are happier, more easy-going and more optimistic. Therefore, we can say sarcasm is a positive if it means humor. Of course, we need to learn how to laugh at the right things rather than the wrong things. And more importantly, we should know what to aspire to in love and in life. Chasing the wrong goals isn’t attractive and eliminates fun in the journey. What do you think?
Anyway, it’s perfectly okay to list sarcasm as a positive on a woman’s dating profile on a dating site or a dating app. I don’t see that as a problem.
