According to a study about Serbian women on OKCupid, one of the world’s biggest online dating site, men have discovered a range of games that Serbian girls are playing with them.
(Disclaimer: This is a study on game-playing in relationships; it’s not a study about negative qualities in Serbian ladies. We are sure that most women from Serbia are amazing.)
The status game: Luke met Sandra on OKCupid, and they decided to meet each other in person. When they are enjoying coffee on a sunny day, this is their conversation about holidays:
Luke: Where did you go this year? I tried Budapest. Its culture is so rich.
Sandra: As a Serbian girl, I’m not interested in countries nearby. I always go to New York, the most exciting city in the world.
Luke: Why do you like New York?
Sandra: I was inspired by the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. So each time I visit New York, I must go to Tiffany & Co on the 5th Avenue!
Luke: You have good taste. I guess that’s a shopping spree, right?
Sandra: Yes, you can say that. My favorite designer at Tiffany’s is Elsa Peretti. Her design is so sensual and intriguing.
The manipulation game: Jack met Nina on OKCupid. They have been chatting online for three days, and Nina changed her profile photos for four times. She looked incredibly attractive in her photos. So Jacked asked her out. (Jack thought it was his idea to meet Nina in person.)

On their first date, this is a part of their conversation:
Jack: What do you do?
Nina: I’m a health coach.
Jack: That’s interesting. So do you have any health advice for me?
Nina: Well, I don’t know you very well. So you should tell me a bit more about yourself.
Jack: I think I’m healthy in general, but I’d like to keep working on my health and well-being.
Nina: Would you like to try XYZ supplements? (She takes out a pamphlet from her bag.)
Jack: That looks pretty good.
Nina: When you order XYZ supplements online, don’t forget to input my name for a 10% discount.
Jack: Wow. Thanks for that.
One week later, Jack realized that Nina wasn’t a health coach. He was just her target market for a multi-level marketing company. Then Jack started to be cautious when it comes to dating Serbian girls.
How to deal with mind games: Once you recognize the game, you will see it everywhere. Luckily, once spotted, a game loses its hold over you. Lack of awareness is more dangerous than lack of knowledge. When you have the awareness, you will simply be nodding internally and thinking, “Oh, that old status/manipulation game” without getting upset.
